East-West Family Game Day and Fireworks Viewing at Palm Park Bring your picnic basket, lawn chairs, bathing suits, & get ready for fun! Compete in old fashion family games like egg toss, wheel barrow and sack races, 4 square, tetherball, tug o’war, kickball, dominoes, card games & more! Dive for watermelons and swim in one of the last fresh-fill pools in Austin.
After the games and swim party, enjoy the fabulous fireworks from the MACC Plaza or another prime viewing spot on Lady Bird Lake or hop a boat ride to see fireworks up-close on Lady Bird Lake. Give your input on the future of Palm Park and Waller Creek and get info on family-friendly services and programs in our neighborhoods. Free! |

Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks at Trail at Ladybird Lake: Auditorium Shore On July 4th, more than 100,000 people gather at Auditorium Shores for the largest Independence Day celebration in Austin. The Austin Symphony will be under the apt baton of ASO Music Director Peter Bay. The H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks features patriotic music and the ever-popular 1812 Overture—the latter punctuated by 75-millimeter Howitzer cannons, courtesy of Texas National Guard Salute Battery—and spectacular fireworks over Lady Bird Lake. West Bouldin Greenbelt Stakeholders Meeting #2 at West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt The BNCA Parks Committee has been working since the summer of 2007 with the City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation and Watershed Protection Departments to develop a long term plan for the use and maintenance of the 54 acre West Bouldin Greenbelt. Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has conducted an environmental assessment of 7 acres of the greenbelt, adjacent to S 6th St. and North of Gibson. LBJWFC will present their recommended plan to the community. To be held at Elks Lodge, 700 Dawson Road. |

Pre-application Class for APF Grants at AAA All Parks If you are planning on applying for a Neighborhood Park Grant or an Austin City Limits Music Festival Grant for a park improvement project, plan on attending this required class. Topics covered will include what makes a good grant application and what is involved in planning different types of projects. Please RSVP if you would like to attend. Location will be 200 S. Lamar, Parks Dept. headquarters. |

Regular hours are Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with multitudes of local growers, producers, activities and organizations for your enjoyment. The Austin Farmers' Market is held at Republic Square Park (4th and Guadalupe).
