Volunteer at Barton Creek Greenbelt: Violet Crown Trail Restoration

Howdy! Put on your shoes and grab your water bottle as you head out the door to join APF to care for the Barton Creek Greenbelt!

Project Goals: Volunteers will work on restoration needs – reducing invasive species and seeding native vegetation to restore one of our city’s most precious resources! You can read more about all our volunteer work in the Greenbelt and its impact.

Where to park: Please feel free to park in the Rock Garden lot, just above the Hillside Theater or other open lots throughout the park.Where we will begin: We’ll meet above the Zilker Hillside Theater next to the Rock Garden picnic tables to start with introductions right at 9AM!

Accessibility: Please note that our activity for the day will involve walking on uneven terrain, slopes and wet/muddy surfaces.

What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, a FULL water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray and comfortable outdoor clothing (preferably long pants and sleeves for protection)! We will provide all tools and gloves – if you have your own gardening or work gloves, you are welcome to bring them.

A NOTE ON SAFETY: We encourage you to “See and Be Seen!” Be mindful of your fellow volunteers and maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times. Dial 911 in case of emergency.

In the event of dangerous inclement weather such as lightning, hail, or strong winds/ rain, Austin Parks Foundation staff will direct volunteers to vacate the site immediately.

The event is finished.
