Open Volunteer Opportunity: Xeriscaping at Parque Zaragoza
Project Goals: Our main task for the day is to continue to transform the green spaces in front of the Zaragoza Recreation Center from hard to manage spaces into low maintenance, drought tolerant landscaped areas. These areas will feature rock beds with diverse native plants that will fit right into the recreation center environment. This will be a fun, educational and rewarding experience!
What to Bring:
-
Please bring plenty of drinking water and fluids to stay hydrated throughout the day. Electrolyte beverages and snacks encouraged!
-
Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate gear for outdoor activities and uneven terrain.
-
All volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes.
-
We recommend wearing long pants with ankle coverage for protection against irritants, bugs, and other environmental hazards.
-
Sun protection including a broad-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and light-colored, lightweight clothing are recommended.
- Bug Spray is recommended to prevent bug bites.
-
