Movies in the Park
Austin Parks Foundation's Movies in the Park is a series of films presented in partnership with Rocket Cinema. For more than 10 years, APF has brought a night at the movies to neighborhood parks across Austin. Check out our event calendar for all upcoming Movies in the Park!
IMPORTANT TIPS
- Local vendors available at some events
- No alcohol, styrofoam or glass allowed
- Smoking is prohibited
- Pets on leash are welcome at some locations (check individual events for more details)
- Blankets and chairs allowed
- Personal food allowed (and encouraged)
- Movie start times vary and begin at dusk

Playdates in the Park
Come play in the park! Playdates in the Park are inclusive community events designed to activate families with young children. Enjoy story time, make crafts, and MOVE AND GROOVE with our friends from Creative Action! Music & Movement sessions are active and designed to inspire creativity, encourage physical and emotional development, and support bonding and connection for parents and children.
Sessions contain singing, beatboxing, guided movement exercises, and end with a dance party for the whole family! Playdates begin at 10 a.m. and end around noon. Check out our event calendar to see all upcoming Playdates in the Park.

Art in the Park
It's time to get crafty in the park! Art in the Park is a fun, inclusive event series designed to get your creative juices flowing. With events for kids and adults - there's something for everyone. Enjoy creating fun nature-inspired art projects with our friends from Painting Pandas while spending time outdoors in your favorite parks!

Fitness in the Park
Come get fit in the park! Fitness in the Park is a donation-based fitness series in partnership with Good Fight Fitness. Join us every Monday and Wednesday evening at Dove Springs District Park from March to May for a full-body strength, conditioning and agility class with a percentage of the proceeds benefitting APF. These classes are designed for all fitness levels. Please come prepared with a water bottle, yoga/exercise mat and sweat towel. Light to moderate dumbells are optional.

Hoops in the Park
Join us for Hoops in the Park, a brand-new event for our 2025 In the Park Series! Hosted by Make a Difference Sports, this fun and engaging basketball experience is designed for kids in 1st through 5th grades. Young athletes will spend the morning enjoying outdoor play, learning new skills, and building teamwork and sportsmanship—all while having a blast! Whether they’re seasoned players or picking up a ball for the first time, this event is the perfect way to get active, meet new friends and experience the joy of basketball in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Make A Difference Sports (MAD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by basketball skills trainer and former collegiate point guard, Matt Caskey. With a passion for sharing the game of basketball, Matt created MAD Sports to empower young athletes by offering opportunities for skill development, community engagement, and financial support.
