Volunteer: Great Hills Neighborhood Park Fire Mitigation pt. 2
Grab your water bottle as you head out to join the Great Hills Park community to further reduce fire risk at Great Hills Park by removing down brush leftover from the 2023 ice storm.
In May we removed almost 3,000 pounds of brush and and we’re looking to remove the remaining brush with this workday and another in the spring and we need your help to make it happen! Join your friends and neighbors in supporting your neighborhood park by helping to cut and drag brush from within the park to the Sierra Nevada trailhead, where it will then be hauled away. Fires are an ever-growing threat and through your work as a volunteer, there will be a reduction of fire risk to the surrounding neighborhood while drastically reducing project costs!
Thank you so much for giving back to our parks and green spaces!
In the event of dangerous inclement weather such as lightning, hail, or strong winds/ rain, APF staff will direct volunteers to vacate the site immediately.Â
