Austin Parks Foundation amplifies D2

This year for Amplify Austin, our city’s 24-hour giving frenzy, we’re highlighting the breadth of our work. We’ll share stories of projects from each district throughout the month of February so you can see how we’re Amplifying a green space near you!

Today, we’re showing off how your gifts Amplify Houston School Park.

New plans for multipurpose pavilion is going to amplify Houston School Park

Gloria Lugo, the park adopter for Houston School Park, has worked hard to improve Houston School Park. Through grants, community donations and volunteer work days, the park has become a space that the whole neighborhood can enjoy. Currently, Austin Parks Foundation is helping with the newest addition to the park, a pavilion!

The pavilion will be a space that can be used for birthdays, family gatherings, or just a place to cool off while still enjoying the park. Lugo says, “We need this space. The families in our community need a need a safe and healthy space to go.”
