This year you have three great ways to celebrate Earth Day with Austin Parks Foundation:
Movies in the Park: 180° SOUTH
Wooldridge Square Park 8 p.m.
Join APF, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and Patagonia for a special Earth Day edition of Movies in the Park in Wooldridge Square Park.
180° SOUTH is the story of one of the most unique and prolific environmentalists of our time—Yvon Chouinard. Rather than re-living Yvon’s story through old photos and his life’s work with pie charts, 180° SOUTH weaves Chouinard’s tale through a modern day expedition. Inspired by Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins’ 1968 excursion into Patagonia, adventurer Jeff Johnson sets out to retrace the footsteps of his heroes’ arduous trek as filmmaker Chris Malloy follows with camera in hand.
King & Country Food Co. will be open for business in Wooldridge Square to offer fresh eats and drinks for you to enjoy during the movie, with a portion of proceeds being given back to APF! See the full spring movie schedule.
Paint with a Purpose at Painting with a Twist South Austin
6705 U.S. 290 West, Suite #501 7 p.m.
You can choose between two painting options—“Spring Stroll” or “Survivor Tree Reflections” for this Earth Day celebration. Painting with a Twist is a fun, social, BYOB painting studio where you’re provided with supplies and step-by-step instructions to create your own masterpiece. Painters ages 15-20 are permitted, but must be accompanied by an adult. Reserve your spot.
Give 5% to Mother Earth
