Austin Parks Foundation at a Glance – In the Park Series

Taylor WisemanParks, Support Our Parks, APF News, People + Parks, Blog Page

Earlier this year we shared an overview of programming, projects and work that Austin Parks Foundation is committed to each year. As we continue to share our mission, we want to dive deeper into these aspects and provide as much information as possible to help you enjoy our parks, trails and green spaces!

We want you to get In. The. Park.

That’s just what our In the Park series is meant to do – get you into the park. For 10 years Austin Parks Foundation has been hosting this free series across the city.

Our longest-running In the Park event, Movies in the Park allows us to bring movies to neighborhood parks across Austin ensuring Austinites of all backgrounds have access to free outdoor entertainment. Many of our Movies in the Park feature local food trucks on-site. We also encourage you to bring a picnic basket, blankets and chairs to enjoy a night under the stars. No alcohol, Styrofoam or glass is allowed.

Playdates in the Park:

Our Playdates in the Park provide an inclusive, free community event designed to activate families with young children. Each playdate offers story time, crafts, and music and movement in partnership with Creative Action. Our playdates are active and designed to inspire creativity – we encourage participation from the youngest member of your household to the eldest.
