Meet the Carvana Team!

Just over a year ago, Austin Parks Foundation hosted an energetic crew of volunteers at Zilker Park. Though the team was small, they were mighty, helping us repaint and revitalize a piece of one of Austin’s most well-loved parks. Back then, Carvana was a small start-up office in Austin. The team lead – Ben Chako, Austin Market Operations Manager – had just moved with the company to Austin after a successful Houston vending machine launch. They were eager to expand their work here in Austin, but they were also eager to give back.

Carvana + Parks

Carvana started giving back to our community the minute they arrived in Austin. In fact, they immediately stepped up as the lead sponsor of one of our signature programs – Movies in the Park. Since then, their generosity has made it possible for APF and Alamo to bring 14 free movies to the Austin community, activating 11 different parks. We are truly grateful for their partnership and support in this program which activates parks all throughout Austin. Park activation programs like Movies in the Park drive healthy activities in our public spaces. They also make our parks safer and more attractive to future users, and Carvana was all too happy to help us continue to expand the program. Together, we hope to continue to bring great park events for all of Austin.

While we at Austin Parks Foundation have a lot to be thankful for, Carvana stands out as one of our most generous partners. They help us offer free programming to people all over Austin and invest in park revitalizations that will benefit Austinites from all walks of life.

Thank you Carvana for putting people + parks at the center of your giving, and for supporting our parks, trails and green spaces with your time and your dollars.
