Community Volunteer Event: Stephenson Preserve

Howdy! Put on your shoes and grab your water bottle as you head out the door to join Austin Parks Foundation to care for the Stephenson Nature Preserve.

Project Goals: Join your friends and neighbors in supporting your local nature preserve through wildfire mitigation. Fires are an ever-growing threat and through your work as a volunteer, there will be a reduction of fire risk to the surrounding neighborhood and keeping our green spaces safe! We will also focus on trail restoration in an effort to promote native plant growth and protect the Stephenson Nature Preserve.

Where to park: TBA

Accessibility: Please note that our activity for the day will involve walking on uneven terrain, slopes and wet/muddy surfaces.

What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, a FULL water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray and comfortable outdoor clothing (preferably long pants and sleeves for protection). We will provide all tools and gloves – if you have your own gardening or work gloves, you are welcome to bring them.
