December Open Workday – Sanchez School Park
We invite you to join us at Austin Parks Foundation to care for Sanchez School Park! We will be supporting the health and beauty of Austin’s parkland by preparing the parks’ trees to weather the winter by spreading mulch. Tree mulch provides a multitude of benefits to trees’ health including temperature regulation, water retention, physical protection from the elements, and nourishing soil composition. We hope you join us!
What to bring: Please bring plenty of drinking water, wear close-toed shoes and comfortable, preferably long, outdoor clothing for protection that you don’t mind working up a sweat in. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended! APF will bring all other supplies and materials such as tools and gloves.
Where to meet: We’ll meet here to gather around to get started with introductions and review our tasks for the day at 9 AM! Parking is available in the school lot or along the neighborhood streets.
Thank you so much for giving back to our parks and green spaces!
In the event of dangerous inclement weather such as lightning, hail, or strong winds/ rain, APF staff will direct volunteers to vacate the site immediately.
