The first phase of work has begun on the Norwood House.  Funded by donations raised by the Norwood Posse, a volunteer group operating under the umbrella of the Austin Parks Foundation, the first phase is asbestos roof shingle removal, being performed by a certified contractor today (April 28) and tomorrow.  Once the shingles are safely removed, the subsurface of the roof will be evaulated and covered with vinyl sheeting donated by a lcoal business.  The next step will be to determine an estimate to re-roof the house.  Donations to the Norwood House project can be made here.
