The Austin Parks Foundation would like to invite you to join us for a celebration of the completion of Phase 1 of the revamping of Republic Square Park. On Friday April 23, 2010 @ 10 am, we’ll gather on our new deck at Republic Square to say thank you to our many partners and friends who helped us in this multi-year effort.
We want to invite you to join us in celebrating the completion of $450,000 worth of improvements into two phases beginning in August of 2008 and finishing in March of 2010.
In its long history, beginning on August 1st 1839, Republic Square has been the site of the first auction of city blocks, the center of Hispanic life and culture, a parking lot, and the return to a park beginning in the late 1970s.
