This Saturday from 7:30 am to approx. 11:30 am, portions of the trail near the Loop 260 access point as well as another portion of the trail near Gus Fruh wall will be temporarily closed or at the very least – slow going – due to scheduled work by volunteers on National Trails Day.  Working with the Hill Country Conservancy as well as REI, the Central Texas Trail Tamers and the Austin Ridge Ridgers, we’re kicking off the work for the Walk for a Day trail – which is a proposed 35 mile hike and bike trail from Barton Springs Pool to Hays County.  If you are free, we’re still looking for volunteers for some of our 13 projects – register here – Volunteers get a free lunch afterward at Zilker. Thanks in advance for your patience if you are out using the trail on Saturday.
