The final checks and fixes to the new irrigation system at the Zilker Soccer Fields, site of The Zilker Kit Festival, Blues on the Green and the Austin City Limits Music Festival are completed and beginning yesterday, Earth Day, 4/22/09, the first of what will be 42 acres of sod is being installed by the contractors.

And then the waiting begins, literally, we’ll be waiting for the grass to grow. It will be worth it however, the park is expected to daily use in Late July or early August, depending on the conditions of the new sod, but the first event will be the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival Oct 2-4 2009.
