Community Gardens
Fresh, Organic, Local Produce in the Parks
Community Gardens are a vital part of the Austin community, producing an estimated 100,000 pounds of fresh local, organic produce for Austin residents every year. Community Gardens play an important role in our community, that’s why Austin Parks Foundation was excited to work with the city in 2019 to become a fiscal sponsor for the Community Garden Program.
Just like APF has done for decades with the Adopt-a-Park Program, we help communities raise funds to improve their green spaces and now, gardens.
Interested in Starting a Community Garden in your park or neighborhood green space?
Are you looking for a way to get your neighborhood activated and involved in your park or nearby public green space? Is access to fresh, local produce limited in your community? A community garden can be a great way to bring together your neighbors and nearby greenthumbs to create beautiful, productive places for all ages.
Would you like to support a local community garden?
Find the Sponsored Fund Account for the garden here and make a donation today! Get in touch if you’d like to connect with a garden and join their team! Please note: Plot availability is limited in some gardens.
Tito's Block to Block Program and Community Garden Support
The amazing team at Tito's Handmade Vodka is committed to giving back to the local community and supporting initiatives that foster community building.
We are thrilled to share that in 2020, Tito's is generously providing APF with a $42,500 donation for community garden repairs and enhancements as well as 100 GroBoxes with seedlings from the Tito’s farm!
Their generous gift will allow community members and families to enhance their beloved community gardens. Thanks so much for your support, Tito's!
