Austin Parks Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with the Austin community to enhance people’s lives by making Austin’s parks better through volunteerism, innovative programming, advocacy, and financial support.
We’re known for our annual flagship volunteer event, It’s My Park Day, and is a presenting partner and beneficiary of the popular Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Metropolitan Park.
Quick Facts
Butler Metro Park, formerly known as Town Lake Metro Park, includes the parkland between Riverside Dr and Barton Springs Rd, and between South First and South Lamar. It is across the street from Vic Mathias Auditorium Shores.
Butler Park includes the Alliance Children’s Garden, Dougherty Art Center, Doug Sahm Hill, Butler Pitch & Putt, and the land that the Long Center and the Palmer Events Center sit on.
The long-awaited Alliance Children’s Garden is officially open to the public!
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department announced that the brand new Alliance Children’s Garden, a brand new 2-acre multi-generational recreational and cultural space within Butler Park, is officially open!
Austin Parks Foundation is proud to be a part of the community effort to make this project a reality. The new space features nature-play elements, musical play equipment, and inter-generational amenities unlike any other park in the city. If you’re headed there, remember to wear a mask, keep 6 feet apart and wash/sanitize your hands as much as possible. Lets keep each other safe, y’all!
