Conflicted about how to spend time outside with the Texas heat? SAME. But we’re here to help! Each week we’ll give you a peek into a park and all it has to offer (BODIES OF WATER). First up: Patterson Neighborhood Park!
Located Northeast of downtown, Patterson Neighborhood Park spans 9 acres including a pool, playground, skate ramp, sports courts and green space! There’s much more – but first things first, the pooooool (read in the alien voice from Toy Story)!

Patterson Neighborhood Park Pool:
With a length of 60 feet, you can swim laps, engage in a rousing game of Marco Polo or cool off from the summer heat. The “shallow” end starts at 2’9” and goes as deep as 4’11”. Patterson Pool also has a circular baby pool with a pergola covering so that swimmers of all ages can beat the heat.
Patterson Park Pool is open 8 AM-12 PM on weekdays for laps and 12-6 PM for recreational swimming. On weekends the pool is open for laps and recreational swimming from 11 AM-8 PM. The pool is CLOSED on Wednesdays.
What else can I do at the park?
Looking to work up a sweat prior to hopping in the pool? Drop in on the mini ramp and channel your inner Tony Hawk. Take the court like Serena and serve up some fun. Find your Big Three and run the pick-up game gauntlet. Hit dingers on the diamond or dig your toes in the sand at the volleyball court.
Sports not your thing? No problem. Take a stroll along the trail, enjoy the great lawn or read under a shade tree. The green space at Patterson Neighborhood Park knows no limits. From Nature Play to Community Gardens, enjoy all this space has to offer.
Patterson Neighborhood Park also offers two playgrounds – one for toddlers under five and one geared toward 5–10-year-olds. Let the kids run free all morning and take a break from the slides to enjoy lunch under the pavilion. It’s all right there.
If you’re looking for a new summer spot to explore, take a trip to Patterson Neighborhood Park and share photos from your adventure with us! Check back next week for another Park Preview!
