It’s the summer of Barbie, and APF is thinking pink! Go all-in on the Barbie fandom this weekend with the help of Barbie herself. We’ve pulled together Barbie’s favorite spots around Austin – let Barbie be your tour guide as you paint the town pink this weekend.
Softball Barbie:
Take the field at various parks around Austin. Some of our favorites: Govalle Neighborhood Park, Holly Shores at Town Lake Metro Park and Civitan Park! You can find more fields (and sports) on our Park Database.
Views Barbie:
Austin has incredible views scattered around the city. Looking to escape the city streets and become one with nature? Check out the Hill of Life trailhead on Barton Creek Greenbelt. Want to see some nature but feel close to the city? Mount Bonnell is the spot for you! If you’d rather stay near the city while getting your steps in, check out the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail!
Mermaid Barbies:
Put your goggles on and dive in at Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park or Emma Long Metropolitan Park! You’re never too old to play mermaids and these parks offer access to large bodies of water.
Movie in the Park Barbies:
We have THREE Movies in the Park left in 2023 – don’t miss them! Enjoy a night under the stars with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at Onion Creek Metropolitan Park, get spooky with Hocus Pocus at Mueller Lake Park and end the year with Moana at Mabel Davis District Park.
Off-Leash Barbie:
Austin has many dog-friendly spots, but sometimes you want to let your furry friends’ hair down and let them run off-leash. We get it! Take a look at five great off-leash dog parks.
Paddle Board Barbie:
Grab your friends and head down to the picturesque Lady Bird Lake to enjoy a day on the water! Rent paddle boards and kayaks from various entities and soak up the sun.
