What is the Healthy Parks Plan?

The Healthy Parks Plan for Travis, Bastrop, and Caldwell Counties is an effort to create a shared vision for building healthier communities through parks. The plan incorporates scientific data, technical analysis and community engagement results to answer key questions about the people, parks and environment.

What parts of town have the greatest need for the benefits that parks provide? How could we improve parks to support the overall health of residents? Our hope is that the tools and helpful resources the Healthy Parks Plan provides will be utilized by parks organizations, Adopt-A-Park groups, and local parks departments as they plan, prioritize and raise funds for our region's park projects.

Thank you, St. David's Foundation!

The Healthy Parks Plan for Travis, Bastrop, and Caldwell Counties was made possible by funding from St. David's Foundation! They awarded a grant to the Trust for Public Land to develop the Healthy Parks Plan over a 15-month stakeholder and community engaged process. Their intent from the getgo has been to make them easily available to all doing related work.

Austin Parks Foundation is excited about the opportunities made possible by the Healthy Parks Plan. The plan will help us make data driven decisions as we strive to provide healthy and equitable parks for every Austinite, no matter what part of town they call home.
