Our tagline is people + parks, and we take that to heart. We know the people we work with, both inside and outside the office, are what make this organization successful, and we’re proud of the team we’ve put together. Each of us is committed to making Austin’s parks, trails and green spaces great for each and every Austinite. Read up on this month’s featured APF staff member, and stay tuned for more throughout the year!

Name: Liz Rush-Smyth

Title:

Development Operations Manager

What She Does:

Liz leads our new Little Hummingbird Society program, while also helping to fundraise for APF and be the liaison between our donors and us!

Time at APF:

1 year

Favorite park:

Westenfield Park!  It has everything— pools, basketball, tennis courts, swings, playground, and a huge field for whatever sport you (or your kids, dogs) may be into.

Favorite thing about being on the APF Staff:

APF is such a wonderful place to work.  This team talks the talk AND walks the walk when it comes to bringing people + parks together.  When you’re out and about in Austin parks, you are likely to be enjoying alongside this team.

Favorite park memory:

It’s so hard to pick just one!  My family and I participated in It’s My Park Day last spring and it was a super fond memory.  My son helped move rocks at West Austin Park, and feels a real ownership of the space each time we visit now.

Fun Fact:

I love to run early early early!  It starts the day off right (before anyone else in the house is up)!
