2020 is here. Austin Parks Foundation is gearing up and excited for a big year of connecting Austinites with high-quality parks, trails and green spaces. In 2019, we finished the decade with thousands of volunteers, increased park funding and more ribbon cuttings than ever before. Thank you, Austin, for helping us improve parks across our city.
10,500 Volunteers in Austin Parks
6,000 Austinites woke up early on the first Saturdays in March and November to make an impact in parks across Austin.
Thousands more volunteered in the parks through our volunteer events happening on the First Saturday of every month!
Hundreds helped us keep Zilker Park green through our ACL Music Festival greening programs, Rock & Recycle and Divert It!
Local businesses partnered with Austin Parks Foundation to host over 40 company volunteer days and make a difference as a team.
Park Improvement Projects
We're thrilled that 2019 saw more ribbon cuttings than any previous year. We strive to provide high-quality park spaces for every Austinite, no matter what part of town they call home. Below are few of our big projects from 2019:
Advocating for Austin's Parks
One of the most important things we can do as park lovers is advocate for Austin's underfunded parks system. Our team and park advocates are passionate about the importance of public green spaces. Here's what we advocated for in 2019:
2019 Community Grants
ACL Music Festival Community Grants are community-initiated park improvement projects funded by Austin Parks Foundation. In 2019, we funded nearly $500,000 through our grants program, including a $100,000 Impact Grantee soon to be announced! We're proud to support communities interested in helping their public parks and green spaces. Learn more about our Spring & Fall Community Grants below:
Thank You, Austin!
Austin Parks Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors, volunteers, sponsors, partners and everyone who helps us make parks better, and more accessible. We couldn't do it without you.
